One of the biggest local events is near and KZSC will be there to document the festivities all weekend long! This coming President’s Day Weekend, February 18th and 19th, downtown Santa Cruz is being taken over by the Santa Cruz Music Festival. Bands, DJs and comedians are going to be performing at The Catalyst, Motiv, Blue Lagoon, San Lorenzo Park, Cafe Mare, Rosie McCann’s, Streetlight Records and so many more in the heart of Downtown Santa Cruz! Lightning Talks at the MAH

Santa Cruz’s very own Museum of Art & History is hosting a local-based event that the whole community should be involved in! Lightning Talks are held at the beginning of each year to inform community members about which direction the city is heading and the many goals for the year to come. Each talk will deliver a year’s worth of information in under 5 minutes, keeping the talks interesting while still being insightful. Some of this year’s speakers include Cynthia Chase, Santa Cruz’s mayor, Levi EagleFeather, Robert Singleton, Pauline Margret Seales, Thomas Dawson, and many more. Topics will vary from politics to music to climate change. Be sure to come to the MAH on Friday, Feb 17th for a night of laughter, education, and community. SCMF 3RD WAVE ANNOUNCEMENT

  Santa Cruz Music Festival 2017’s 2nd wave line-up shook the Central-Bay Area but the 3rd and final announcement is here and you might want to sit down for this one. Along with the hard-hitting acts of the first two waves, such as Troyboi, Louis the Child, The Brothers Comatose, The Coffis Brothers, and many more, we have carefully added more toe-tapping, exhilarating acts. Among the new wave is Zion-I, Monolink, Scarub, Charlesthefirst, Ancestree, Dreaming Ghosts and many more. Not only are we proud to bring these excellent acts to the stages of Santa Cruz, but SCMF is offering even more stages (17+ stages) this year. SCMF is proud to include San Lorenzo Park to our list of venues. San Lorenzo Park will be the staple of community for SCMF, helping to express how much we would like to give back to the community as an event. Booths will be set up for Nonprofits and NGOs to spread awareness for their local companies. Other fun-for-all-ages events will be included at the park such as yoga, hula-hooping, face-painting, and other community, fair activities. Throughout the past years we have established ourselves as fantastic entertainment providers, but this year we want to make sure that the whole family has a chance to participate and enjoy the incredible city of Santa Cruz. FAQ MAP What does my 2-Day wristband get me? The 2-day Event Pass gets you into every participating venue for SCMF 2017 as well as the special events, Santa Cruz Speaks, San Lorenzo Park, The SCMF Beach Clean Up, SCMF Yoga Sessions, The SCMF Bike Party, and The SCMF Comedy Tour. Age Restrictions do apply and vary per venue… Age 21 venues include the Upstairs stages in the Catalyst Club, The Blue Lagoon, Motiv, and Cafe Mare. 99 Bottles and Rosie McCann’s are 21+ after 10 pm. Where do I pick-up my wristband? You will be able to pick up your wristband in the parking lot at the corner of Pacific Ave. & Elm Street, right next to the Catalyst Club. You will exchange your physical tickets for wristbands at the ticketing booth. Those who selected WILL CALL will show their IDs and get their wristbands. Please also have the purchasing credit card ready in case there are any issues. When will the schedule of the artists be released?
